Selling on TikTok lives without overselling

Take orders on TikTok, Facebook or Instagram lives without selling the last item twice, then ship with COD and courier lists. A guide from Envoice.mu.

A good live sale is chaos in the best sense. You hold up a dress, the comments fill with "mine!", "size M pls", "code 14", and within two minutes a dozen people think they've bought the same item. If you only had three in stock, nine of those buyers are about to be disappointed, and some of them already sent the Juice.

Overselling is the problem that hurts live sellers most. It costs you the refund conversation, the angry comment on your next live, and the buyer who doesn't come back.

Why it happens

During a live, you're presenting, reading comments and answering questions all at once. Orders arrive in comments, DMs and WhatsApp at the same time, and the stock count lives in your head or on a notebook beside the phone. Nobody can keep that straight for an hour.

The fix is to move the counting off your head and onto something that counts properly.

Give every item a code before you go live

Build a price list with an order code for each item, and for each size and colour where it matters. Envoice lets you share that price list as a link, so buyers can see what's available and order by code instead of describing "the blue one you showed earlier".

Codes make the comments readable. "A14 M" means one thing.

Hold stock the moment someone orders

This is the part that stops overselling. Envoice tracks stock by size and colour and holds an item for the buyer who ordered it, so the last piece can't be sold twice. Decide before the live how long you'll hold an unpaid order, and tell buyers at the start; a clear rule saves a lot of arguing in the comments afterwards.

Stock holds turn "I think we have one left" into a number you can trust while you're still on camera.

Read orders from the order board, not the comments

The order board collects orders in one place as they come in. If a buyer sends a screenshot of the item they want, screenshot order reading picks it up so you don't have to type it in. Check each order as you confirm it; the board saves the typing, and you still make the call.

Check payments before you pack

Many buyers pay by Juice and send a screenshot as proof. The Juice proof check helps you review that proof against the order before the parcel goes anywhere. Envoice doesn't collect the payment or connect to your Juice account, so confirm the money has actually reached you in your own banking app before you pack.

For buyers who'd rather pay on delivery, mark the order as COD so the courier collects and your records show what's still to come in.

Get the parcels out

After the live, the work moves to packing and delivery. Envoice gives you a packing list, so each parcel has the right items, sizes and colours, and a courier CSV with the delivery details your courier needs. It's far quicker than copying addresses out of 40 chats.
